Ronaldinho ending speculation he may join Besiktas

Atletico Mineiro have announced Ronaldinho has signed a new contract with the club, ending speculation he may join Besiktas.
Reports had linked the 33-year-old with a move to the Super Lig to boost his chances of making Luiz Felipe Scolari’s squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The midfielder, who boasts 97 caps for his country, enjoyed a triumphant return to domestic football as he led Atletico to Copa Libertadores success earlier this year.
His previous contract expired at the end of 2013 but the club confirmed on Thursday that the two-time World Player of Year has agreed a new deal.
A statement on Atletico’s official website read: “Atletico have agreed to renew the contract of playmaker Ronaldinho. The announcement was made by President Alexandre Kalil on his Twitter account.”
Ronaldinho has made 70 appearances in all competitions for Atletico since signing in June 2012, scoring 26 goals.
